Challenging trails trek rocks and roots and mud through towering pine forests, lush meadows, and secluded wetlands in an unforgettably unique tour of the National Forest. ATV clubs work together to promote a safe and enjoyable sport, to extend and connect existing trails, and to provide social events and outings for local riders.
Over 1200 miles of trails means nearly endless possibilities. The Cable network of trails is one of the largest snowmobile trail systems in America, and with such an extensive network, uncrowded trails and solitude are among the many traits that make it not only the biggest, but also the best. Nearly 200 miles of groomed trails begin the adventure… and 1000 miles of unplowed forest roads provide additional opportunities for exploration. There are so many miles of trails, in fact, that it’s possible to travel throughout the surrounding lakes and communities without having to load up your snowmobile into a trailer. Trails are maintained by the Namakagon Trail Groomers Association, which constructs, maintains, and improves facilities and trails in addition to organizing social and fundraising events, some of which draw thousands of visitors from throughout the state.
